INTRODUCTION

Prostatitis are a frequent uro-andrological problem. Now it is usual an imaging diagnostic study of the prostate by transrectal probes. The standard check is enough to suspect a prostatic inflammation: we can see a bigger prostate, structurally non homogeneous, with some bleary, hypoecoic areas and some clearly liquefied zones.

It is much more difficult to recognize the presence of an active inflammation and its development during therapy by the only B-Mode way of investigation. We improved this situation introducing the use of color Doppler (CFM) with transrectal probes. By CFM we can clearly point out the hypervascular areas showing a active inflammation. The hypervascularization can concern a big or a little area of the prostate. We can truly verify the resuts of the therapy with a follow up by CFM.
